Message from the president
Today there are many ways to wear kimono — stylish, antique, quick-dressing and more — but the dressing I aim for is an authentic look that is elegant and beautiful. At Wasou Kajiura, we don't just teach dressing; we offer a complete package of self hair-styling, knowledge and etiquette so you can go out looking beautiful from head to toe.
Our self hair-styling class has received a great response from those with long hair. Through lectures on many aspects of kimono knowledge — its history, seasonal wardrobe changes, types of obi and patterns — we have seen first-hand how everyone grows interested in kimono. And as you learn about Japanese culture, we hope you will come to recognize Japanese etiquette as part of being a Japanese woman. This year, we have also begun offering an etiquette lesson at the end of each course.
Why not experience kimono, the Japanese national dress admired around the world?
